I had a friend, aquaintance who was the victim of a narcissistic relationship. I saw the effects of the narcissist manipulate the person into becoming a shell of their former self. It is a very insidious disorder that resulted in this person being entirely controlled and manipulated right down to their very thoughts and behaviours. Their self esteem and individuality completely diminished and they basically became a shadow of the controller. Its very psychologically powerful but what I find interesting is the mind control aspect of the disorder, the way a person with NPD can get into a persons psyche so effectively as to gainc control. We are vulnerable individuals and as long as there are controllers their will be victims of them. People have been trying to control others for thousands even millions of years.Mind control techniques and psychological persuasion techniques have been practiced since early times. CONTROL is the key word here, control addiction and developments to execute control on any chosen individuals and eventually the masses.
